A crowded chart feels prepared. In Indicator Stack Lab we inventory every overlay and ask what unique job it performs. Two momentum tools that peak on the same bars are echoes; keeping both creates false confidence when they ‘agree.’ Volume tools that only confirm what structure already showed can stay—or leave—depending on the instrument’s liquidity.

Students photograph their layout before and after. The after shot usually looks emptier and feels more deliberate. That emptiness is the point. Confluence needs distinct voices, not a choir singing the same note. If you cannot name each indicator’s role in one plain sentence, it does not yet belong on the stack you trade from.
